My interest in nutrition began about 25 years ago when I began working at a vegetarian restaurant in South London called the Wholemeal Café. Without any formal training, I learnt how to cook healthy nutritious meals and worked with some lovely, like minded people – some of whom are still great friends of mine. I spent about seven years of my life there and took over the running of it for some of those years, before leaving to have my first child and moving to Ireland with my Irish husband.
I am now based in Galway in the West of Ireland. Moycullen – where I live is eight miles west of Galway City in Connemara. Five children later I decided to study Nutritional Therapy as my interest in healthy eating was as strong as ever and I felt that this was the right direction for me. Three years later and my qualification under my belt, I have set up my practice at home in Moycullen near Galway city and at Health and Herbs in Sea Rd, Galway City.
As one of my favourite things has always been preparing and cooking healthy vegetarian food, I began giving classes from home and have continued to do this along with teaching people about the nutritional benefits of the food I cook. By setting up this website I aim to share my knowledge as a Nutritional Therapist and my culinary skills by providing healthy nutritious recipes and information on up and coming courses and events.
Zest4life is a weightloss programme devised by Patrick Holford. It aims to help people lose weight and gain health by balancing blood sugar levels and eating Low Glycaemic foods. I am now a qualified Zest4life practitioner.
